Touring Greece with EF College Break
Growing up I didn't travel much, meaning that my first time leaving the United States wasn't until my junior year of college when I got my first passport and went on a cruise during spring break. I had always been interested in traveling, but after this trip the spark was definitely reignited.
Fast forward a few years to 2015, almost 2 years after graduating, and I see a friend on Facebook who just got back from a trip to Thailand with a group called EF College Break (now EF Ultimate Break). EFCB is a tour company for adults 18-29 that runs tours all over the world. One of my roommates in college went on a couple of tours with EFCB and raved about it. I went to their website and immediately fell in love with the Greek Islands trip itinerary. Later on I texted my boyfriend about wanting to go there one day and he asked why we couldn't go now. It had never occurred to me that I didn't have to wait for "some day" to plan the trip. Soon after this discussion we were booked to leave for Athens September 10th!
EF College Break took care of everything for us! This was something I was very happy about because I took on the role of planner and I had no clue where to eve start planning a trip to Europe.
We signed up for the trip 9 months out and chose to take advantage of the company's monthly payment plan. This made financing the trip sooo much easier! The cost of the trip included flights to and from Greece, all transportation within Greece, all hotels, daily breakfast, a welcome and farewell dinner, and our amazing tour director, Artin.
Artin was from Athens and was extremely familiar with all of the places we visited and stayed. He had friends in every city and on every island and was not only a great tour guide, but an amazing host while we were in Greece.
We had a group of 25 all together and I everyone got along so well! I believe we were the last week of the year and, because of that, were a smaller sized group than the average tour. Some of the friends we met while in Greece are actually some of my best friends over two years later! We've gone on other trips together, visited each other at home, and even attended one friend's wedding!
The trip was 10 days long and included stays in Athens, Ios, Santorini, and Mykonos. I will go into depth about what each place was like - we did and saw so much it would be way too long for just one post!
I am so beyond satisfied with the experience I had with EF College Break! I would recommend this company to any of my friends and family who are looking to go on a guided tour like this. I haven't gotten around to booking another trip with them, but I definitely want to before I turn 29!
